Congratulations to the Newark soccer team on a very successful season. The Norsemen finished 11-10-1 under new coach Bill Suhayda.
The team accomplished a lot this season and made many memories along the way. Some of this season's highlights include Cody Borneman and Mike Larson's first high school goals. Kurt Anderson and Noel Cabadas both scored 11 goals for the Norsemen. Levy Soares scored his first American goal. Angel Torres-Larson also had many timely goals and assists. Tyler Andersen, our new goal keeper, had many outstanding saves. Other honorable mentions include Nick Slack for pumping up the team before each game, and Juan Elizade and Zeke Schmidt for their contributions to the team.
Finally, our most memorable moment of the season was winning the third place trophy at the conference tournament against Somonauk. This trophy was the first ever won for Newark soccer.
Congratulations Norsemen, and best of luck next season!
