Teeing off Towards a Great Season

The Newark High School Golf Team started off its season on Monday, August 18. This team, coached by Mr. James Hissong, looks great so far this year, according senior Karter Kunkel.

In the previous season, the team was above even in the win/loss category making it an overall successful season. The run Sophomore Jack Clausel made into the post season, making it to sectionals, meant last year will be a hard one to beat.

With all the work the golf team plans to put in for this season at Whitetail Ridge Golf Course, they hope to set an even better record than last year. Members are Seniors Karter Kunkel, Dylan Emerson, and Zach Ward; Juniors Tyler Kaufman, Neal Smith, and Seth Larson; Sophomores Cameron Myre and Caleb Dierzen and Freshman James Martin.

These members plan to use the regular season as purely practice in preparation for a regional run starting October 7, 2014.
